In Order To Learn The Lessons Of Life, Teens Need To Work
What plans do youngsters come up with when they want to earn money? Often, a kid first tries selling lemonade, cookies, or something like that in their front yard. Even if they don’t want it, people who pass by usually make a purchase to avoid hurting the child’s feelings.
When that child turns 13, however, they will find that their options for making money are extremely limited. Most of the time the only types of jobs they can get involve babysitting or something similar; companies are not going to hire a teenager that young. The other main options seem to be paper routes, walking dogs, or doing yard work for neighbors and family.
If you are a young teen and need money, it is best if you try to find a job that will be fun as well as pay you some money. There will be time enough for serious jobs when you get older and you should have some fun now while you are young.
Older teens then move on to newspaper routes and babysitting. Some kids are more inventive and maybe try things like baking cookies and selling them. The better your imagination and drive, the more ideas you will have and probably your success will be better as well. Kids can think of ways to make money in their free time and all they need is some encouragement and guidance.
When kids turn 15 many of them start thinking about maybe getting a summer job to earn some spending money. After all, they know they will soon turn 16 and get their driver’s license and many teens want to save up for that. If jobs are few and far between these next couple of years because of the bad economy, what will these teenagers do with their time? That is an impressionable age and they need to get started in life on the right foot and learn responsibility. Without a summer and part time jobs, these life lessons will be put on hold.
